Thank you, Andrew, for leading today. A walk along the Royal Military Canal to start, before walking across fields to Stone-in-Oxney Church, where we stopped for our snack break. Andrew provided us with a warm mulled drink and Cornish cake! We looked at the Roman Mithraic Altar stone, under the tower inside the Church, it dates from between the 1st and 4th centuries AD. Leaving the Church we walked to Chapel Bank, before turning back to Appledore. A drink in the Black Lion rounded off a pleasurable walk. Thanks Ron for back-marking and Ron, Dave and Jennifer for the photos.
