Ron W and Stevie led a different sort of walk today - humourously entitled the 'Folkestone 3 Peaks Challenge' it took in the three iconic hills that stand above Folkestone - Round Hill, Castle Hill and Sugarloaf Hill. A beautiful summer day walking on the lovely chalk downland, with great views over Folkestone, the Channel Tunnel terminal, across to Little Cheyne Wind Farm, Dungeness Power Station, over the Channel to France, and, closer at hand, looking down on the A20 entering the tunnel beneath our feet! Stevie and Ron had both pre-walked the route, but because of other commitments had had to do so separately, which led to a little confusion and added greatly to the fun! But at the end of the day it was a great chance for walkers to push themselves a little harder, and all came through with flying colours - mastering the steep ascents and descents with determination! Thanks to Walk Leader Ron and back-marker Stevie.
