We set off from Rye station with Andrew leading and Graham backmarking. We headed out  across sheep pastures along the banks of the River Tillingham. We reached Peasmarsh. Leaving Peasmarsh, we walked through orchards, a vineyard and passed an early medieval moat. We reached our lunch stop at Iden. After lunch we continued to The Bell Inn. We walked to the edge of the cliff overlooking the Military Rd and the River Rother and took a steep path down t to cross the river at Boons Bridge. We followed the bank of the Rother, past Scotts Float sluice to reach the bridge by fishermans' wharf
